It’s a sad day for Canada today, our beloved past finance minister passed away suddenly.  While I am far from someone who ever has anything nice to say about the Progressive Conservative party, it is with sadness that I write this post.  I did not believe the news when it first broke, as he just stepped down less than three weeks ago.

Jim Flaherty was a man with a job that we all loved to hate him for.  What he did for Canada during the recession and after is impressive and will just be a hard act to follow.

No one likes to talk about money and cuts, yet this man put the love of Canada ahead of everything and for that he should be remembered. Without him and his hard work, we would not be in the financial state that we are at this present moment.
