A mildly sweet treat, perfect for any time of the day….Ive mixed together a few of mhy favourite recipes for these yummy delights.
Apple Crumble Tarts
Preheat over to 375
Filling Ingredients:
4 peeled, cored & diced apples (I used pink lady, but any kind that is firm is good)
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup chopped pecans, optional
2 Tablespoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup granulated sugar
1 box 12 tart shells
Topping Ingredients:
1 ¼ cups oats
½ cup flour
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup melted butter
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook the apples, cornstarch, pecans, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar. Stir constantly for 5 minutes (make sure its bubbling before turning down heat). Switch to low heat and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 20 minutes.
Place tart shells on baking sheet (I lined mine with parchment paper as putting on the topping is messy and this will save on clean up time)
Fill shells with apple mixture, making sure they are even and have equal sauce and apples.
Mix Oats, flour, brown sugar in bowl stir in melted butter mix well, mixture will be crumbly.
Top each tart with an ample amount of crumble mix.
Bake in oven for 30-40 mins until bubbly and top browned, let cool on baking rack. Tarts can be stored in the fridge or frozen until needed.
